Baby sheep

March, April and May are the beginning of the birthing season for our Ouessant sheep.  Most have already lambed this year, one is still waiting. It is exciting each time to see how different the ewes are. Each has her own personality, her own way of dealing with the stress of giving birth and taking care of her newborn lambs. In the barn, the lambs stay alone with their mother for a few more days before they go out to the meadow to romp with their playmates. In summer, our sheep in our petting zoo at DasEulersberg are happy about hard bread and salad, which our guests may feed them.
