Hiking at the mountain stream
Our ice-cold mountain streams certainly belong to the most beautiful destinations. Here you can cool your feet after a strenuous hike, the children can splash around in the cool water. In the Taugl in Tennengauer Kuchl, for example, you can explore the numerous walking trails beforehand and then bask in the sun on the limestone, whose stratification is clearly visible here through the incisions of the watercourse through the rocks. The river cuts through very different zones of rock on its course of about twelve kilometres.
The "7 mills" in Pfarrwerfen are also worth a visit. While the adults can watch the miller grinding the grain and learn all there is to know about the local varieties of grain on an adventure trail, the children have fun at the water playground or at the mill rally.
An easy hike leads Flachau-Winkl to the end of the valley. Here too, the path leads past the quiet little brook, where individual places can also be used for sunbathing. Afterwards one returns comfortably to the Prechtl/Marbachalm for a hearty snack.
