Kaiserschmarrn

How the Kaiserschmarrn got it’s name? The Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I. loved pancakes as a dessert. But his kitchen chef messed it up once and it got to thick so he pulled it to pieces – served with raisins and icing sugar. "A Schmarrn, this to serve an Emperor!” - Casually the servants called the meal ‘Kaiserschmarrn’. (Kaiser = Emperor)

Our chef Joe makes (according to us and many guests) the most delicious Kaiserschmarrn. A warm steaming golden yellow fluffy dream served with apple sauce and plum jam – a crowning end to a wonderful day in the mountains.
